Why we made Whisper.
Messaging turned into an archive. We wanted the opposite.
Every photo filed, every word kept, every thread waiting to be scrolled. Somewhere in there, writing to one person started to feel like posting to everyone.
Whisper is the small, private opposite. One tile on your Home Screen, one person behind it, and nothing left over once you have looked.
It is built for a partner, a best friend, the few people you would tell before you told anyone else. No followers, no groups, no feed to keep up with.
How it works.

Six digits, given to someone you choose. Whisper never asks for your phone number and never reads your contacts.

A photo, a video, a voice note, a few words. Up to five whispers can be in the air at once.

Their tile changes on the Home Screen. They look once, and it is erased rather than filed away.

What we can’t see.
Most apps tell you what they protect. It is more useful to know what they never hold.

Your phone number
Whisper never asks for it, so it cannot be leaked, sold, or used to find you.

Your contacts
Your address book is never read. Someone reaches you by typing a six digit code you handed them yourself.

Your messages
Photos, video, voice and text are encrypted on your device. The keys are generated there and never uploaded. We hold ciphertext we cannot open.

Your history
A whisper is erased once it has been seen, or after seven days. No archive is left for anyone to breach.
